What JDC has been up to..

British Grand Prix 2010

The eagerly awaited British Grand Prix took place at Silverstone on a blisteringly hot weekend mid July. The sun shone all weekend adding to the intoxicating atmosphere. With all JDC suites occupied, our guests enjoyed fine food and flowing hospitality along with fantastic views of the start / finish straight, with all suites directly behind the pit wall. The noise of the engines deafening as the cars came round Woodcote corner and into the garages for their pit stops. Webber took top spot on the podium followed by Hamilton and Rosberg respectively.

Monaco 2010 Grand Prix

After the storms that had hit the South of France, devastating the beach front of Nice, the Monaco Grand Prix took place as the sun decided to shine and Monaco truly looked at it’s best. We had guests who stayed in both Monaco and Nice hotels, and many different hospitality options. One group enjoyed fantastic yacht hospitality – a true step into the beautiful world of the most glamorous grand prix on the F1 calendar. The views were spectacular as the cars were just a stone’s throw away after they turned into the chicane, the food spectacular and of course the champagne flowed making it a truly awesome experience. Guests also dined at the opulent Hotel Hermitage before viewing the race from their balcony. Others dined at the Cafe de Paris situated in the world famous Casino Square – taking in the spectacular views.

Winter F1 Testing – Barcelona February 2010

A beautiful day dawned in Barcelona on the 26th February this year. The sun was shining as we made our way to the Circuit de Catalunya. The excitement grew as we were taken through the gates to our Pisos Box, which was fantastically located directly above the Ferrari garage with amazing views of Alonso’s mechanics at work. To the left was McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton and to the right was Kobayashi in his BMW Sauber. And one for the history books, we saw Shumacher return to the track in his Mercedes.

With fine food, good wine and a wander through the F1 Paddock to see who we could spot, it was truly a magical day to set up the new season nicely.

JDC was really busy during 2009. Here is a flavour of what we were up to……

MotoGP

Donington Park saw it’s last MotoGP on a wet weekend in July 2009. Thank goodness for our Suite as our guests darted in and out of the rain to watch the race in a dry haven. Overlooking the start / finish straight and with circuit TV we saw Andrea Dovizioso take his first career MotoGP win at the British Grand Prix.

Monaco Grand Prix

One of the most glamorous race circuits, the Monaco Grand Prix, took place in May 2009. Our clients had fantastic settings for the race, either relaxing on an exclusive race-day yacht in the harbour, with views directly onto the circuit, at the Cafe Grand Prix at La Rascasse – one of the most famous restaurants in Monaco, situated on La Rascasse Hairpin. Or at the Cafe de Paris on the world-famous Casino Square. Of course the icing on the cake was to see Jenson Button, now 2009 F1 World Champion, on the top of the podium.

British Grand Prix

2009 saw an exciting Formula 1 British Grand Prix. Of course, this could have potentially been the last one at Silverstone (contract now back with Silverstone). With all our suites buzzing Vettel took the 10 points, with Webber 2nd and Barrichello 3rd. With the Red Arrows literally dropping into the Suite for a flying visit, plus plenty of food and drink it was a day to remember.

Italian Grand Prix

In August 2009 the Italian Grand Prix took place at Monza. It was a beautiful weekend highlighting the pretty circuit and the passionate racing Italians. We accompanied a group of clients throughout, from meeting them at Linate Airport at the beginning of the weekend to transfering them back to the hotel, very tired after a fantastic day’s racing and hospitality on the Sunday, even if Hamilton did crash out on the last lap! With Pit Lane Walks, shopping in Milan and birthday cakes everyone had a brilliant weekend.

British Superbike Championship

With British Superbike races at Brands Hatch, Donington and Silverstone in 2009 we had our hands full. At Silverstone, we welcomed Steve Parrish, ex team mate of Barry Sheene, now TV Presenter and Gary Mason, current BSB rider, into our suite, where they gave an exclusive insight to the world of bike racing. We went behind the scenes in the garage where we got up close, even sitting on Gary’s spare racing bike!

British Touring Cars

The British Touring Car Championship in 2009 was fast and furious with Colin Turkington taking the trophy. We accompanied a team at Donington, Silverstone and Brands Hatch with a team in the Michelin Formula Renault UK Championship providing Suites with full hospitality for all events.
